Schema Therapy and ImRs
Expert: Prof Dr Arnoud Arntz
Imagery Rescripting is a powerful technique for transforming the emotional impact of traumatic memories. In this roleplay, a client revisits a painful childhood memory involving an intimidating stepfather.
Guided by Arnoud Arntz, she re-enters the experience to process it differently. By rescripting the memory, the therapist helps her regain a sense of control, compassion, and support for her younger self, illustrating how imagery can facilitate emotional healing in schema therapy.

Interview with Dr Otto Kernberg
Expert: Dr Otto Kernberg
In this interview, Otto Kernberg reflects on how the DSM-5 conceptualizes the severity of personality disorders through disturbances in self and interpersonal functioning. He explores why narcissistic patients often struggle in therapy, and discusses integrative treatment approaches that combine cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic methods for complex and chronic pathology.
Drawing on his background in psychiatry and psychoanalysis, Kernberg also shares insights into the challenges therapists face when working with severe personality disorders and the enduring value of solid clinical training.

Emotion-Focused Therapy
Expert: Dr Les Greenberg
This video explores Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), a therapeutic approach that views emotions as central to human experience. EFT helps clients become aware of, accept, and transform their emotions.
The therapy combines following the client’s emotional process with guiding them through tasks like resolving unresolved feelings or self-criticism.By focusing on bodily responses and synthesizing emotions (e.g., turning shame into healthy anger), EFT fosters deep emotional change.
The process is non-linear, emphasizing experiential over intellectual understanding, and aims to help clients transform core painful emotions.
